Reina De La Pileta is the debut album from the brand new collaboration between Wanderlust and composer/double bassist Simon Milman. The album combines the organic approach of one of Australia’s longstanding improvising ensembles with the eclectic compositions of a Struggletown native.
The resultant music is an inquisitive mix of improvisation, African and Latin rhythms all served with a side order of humour. Milman’s compositions are inspired by his musical travels through the Caribbean, South America and Africa and by Joseph Schillinger.
